Yayoi Kusama’s Pumpkin 2000 (Yellow) (2000) is a colour screenprint measuring 48.1 × 64.1 cm, produced in an edition of 200. The work depicts one of Kusama’s most enduring motifs, the pumpkin,  here presented in vibrant yellow and structured with her signature polka dots. Its bold palette and rhythmic patterning create a composition that is both playful and deeply symbolic.

The pumpkin has been a central theme in Kusama’s art since childhood, embodying both comfort and creative inspiration. In this edition, its rounded form and dotted skin suggest not only the vitality of nature but also her lifelong exploration of infinity, repetition, and psychological depth. The yellow palette reinforces the work’s warmth and radiance, imbuing the motif with a sense of optimism and endurance.
